doctrinal beliefs

God calls the church "The pillar and foundation of the truth" (1 Timothy 3:15). That truth can be summarized into categories known as doctrines. One of the highest callings of the church is to be sure to preach and teach sound doctrine. Our hope is that in the end we will be found faithful in teaching God's people the eternal truths of the word of God. What Makes CBC DISTINCT? 

God-Centered

We believe that God made us for Himself and that everything we do should be about Him. For this reason, all of our teaching and preaching focuses primarily on who God is, what He has done for us through Christ, and how He calls us to live for Him. 



Biblical Inerrancy

We believe that the Bible is divinely inspired to such an extent that when the Bible speaks, God speaks. As a result, we believe that the Scriptures cannot err in anyway and that they do not err in any way. They are the infallible and inerrant Word of the perfect God.



Elder Led

We believe that the church is to be led by a plurality of biblically qualified men called elders (1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:5–9). These men supply spiritual leadership and direction to the church under the ultimate direction of Jesus, the Great Shepherd. Calvary has four such men including the senior pastor who is seen as the preaching elder.



Lovingly Reformed

The preaching and teaching at Calvary Bible Church has a distinctly "reformed" note to it. While we do not agree with every doctrinal formulation of the Protestant Reformation (eg. infant baptism, etc.), we do believe their understanding of the Gospel was biblically derived and so we joyfully stand on their shoulders as we preach and teach. 



Biblical Sufficiency

We believe that the Bible gives us everything we need to know in order to bring God glory, to know Him personally through faith, and to live in a way that is pleasing to Him. 



Every-Member Ministry

We believe that God has given Pastors to the church to equip the body for the work of ministry. In other words, the bulk of the ministry at Calvary is carried on by its members who seek to love God by serving one another.
